Season 1

1 and 2. Welcome to Hellmouth aka Harvest (Part 1 and 2) (Original airdate March 10, 199)
Picking up where the feature film left off, Buffy Summers and her mom move to Sunnydale, California, for a fresh start, unaware of the evil lurking in this quiet suburb. Somewhat reluctant in her role as the slayer, Buffy quickly makes friends and enemies at her new school. While also meeting her new "Watcher," Giles, the mercurial school librarian, her newly assembled team encounters the ever-abundant unearthly creatures in Sunnydale.

3. The Witch (Original airdate March 17 1997)
When students start dropping out of cheerleading tryouts by spontaneously combusting, going blind and losing the power of speech, Buffy and her posse suspect a powerful witch is in their midst. Buffy herself soon becomes the target of a deadly spell as they discover the witch's true identity. Meanwhile, Xander finally musters up the nerve to ask Buffy out on a date but in the throes of a witch's spell, Buffy's response isn't exactly as he'd hoped.

4. Teacher's Pet (Original airdate March 25, 1997)
A substitute teacher's infatuation with Xander is flattering to the lovesick teen, but alarming to Buffy.

5. Never Kill a Boy on the First Date (Original airdate March 31, 1997)
Buffy tries to maintain some semblance of a normal teenage social life by opting for a hot date instead of helping Giles protect Sunnydale from a violent vampire prophecy. As she's blinded by love, Buffy ignores the signs of the dark forces aligning against her. Meanwhile, while Buffy's being romanced, The Master is plotting her demise by invoking the wrath of the "Anointed One," a great warrior vampire who is The Master's most powerful weapon against the slayer.

6. The Pack (Original airdate April 7, 1997)
When Buffy and the rest of Sunnydale High endure the annual field trip to the zoo, Xander and some other kids sneak into the quarantined hyena exhibit, but leave in an altered state. It's up to Buffy, Giles and Willow to discover the cause behind Xander's bizarre behavior and reverse the transformation before it's too late. Meanwhile, Xander's new aggressive demeanor doesn't play well with his old friends.

7. Angel (Original airdate April 14, 1997)
While Buffy grows more and more annoyed with Angel's mysterious disappearing act, she can't deny her growing obsession with him. Meanwhile, it's killing Xander that Buffy doesn't have a clue how he feels about her and, as he vents his frustrations to Willow, she knows all too well how he feels. And in the underworld, The Master is incensed that Buffy has taken the lives of so many members of his family, and he summons warrior vampires to annihilate her.

8. I Robot -- You, Jane (Original airdate April 28, 1997)
Buffy and Giles face a demon spirit who has been trapped since the Dark Ages and is unleashed into cyberspace. Meanwhile, Willow has fallen for a cyber-beau whom she met online and Xander and Buffy are wary of who this anonymous wooer may turn out to be.

9. The Puppet Show (Original airdate May 5, 1997)
Sunnydale High School's annual talent show serves as a backdrop for murder when Buffy must catch a knife-wielding stealer of human organs. Meanwhile, the new principal is a discipline-loving brute who forces Giles to run the talent show and orders Buffy, Xander, and Willow to perform.

10. Nightmares (Original airdate May 12, 1997)
The world of nightmares and reality become one when everyone in Sunnydale is living out their worst fears. While Xander comes to school in his underwear and Giles is unable to read, Buffy must unravel the mystery before reality folds completely into the world of nightmares.

11. Invisible Girl (a.k.a Out Of Mind, Out Of Sight) (Original airdate May 19, 1997)
Buffy and Cordelia become unlikely allies to combat an invisible spirit that has targeted Cordelia and everyone around her. Meanwhile, Angel goes to Giles to warn him that Buffy could be in grave danger.

12. Prophecy Girl (Original airdate June 2, 1997)
Buffy wants to resign from her life of slaying when Giles uncovers an ancient prophesy that spells out her deadly fate, as the Master's ascension from the Hellmouth is at hand. As the earth begins to crack open, Xander, Willow and Cordelia face an army of demons and the prophetic end of the world. Meanwhile, Xander finally asks Buffy to the prom with equally disastrous consequences.

 


Season 2

13. When She Was Bad (Original airdate September 15, 1997)
When Buffy returns home to Sunnydale after a spending the summer away, Xander and Willow become concerned with her disturbingly cold and distant behavior. Meanwhile, Cordelia and Sunnydale High teacher Ms. Calendar are kidnapped and Buffy is convinced that the fight to protect them and the world from the undead is hers alone. Still reluctant to risk getting close to Angel, Buffy turns him away before either one can express his or her true feelings.

14. Some Assembly Required (Original airdate September 22, 1997)
When the body parts of dead girls are discovered missing from their graves, Buffy and her posse discover that the parts are being used to create the perfect woman, with the final touch being Cordelia's head. Meanwhile, Giles finally musters the nerve to ask fellow teacher Ms. Calendar out on a date and Angel admits his jealousy over the amount of time Buffy spends with Xander.

15. School Hard (Original airdate September 29, 1997)
When parent-teacher night is interrupted by uninvited guests, Buffy must protect her fellow students, the principal and her mother while keeping her secret. Meanwhile, Angel's old friends, Spike and Drusilla visit Sunnydale for The Night Of Saint Vigeous - the holy night of attack.

16. Inca Mummy Girl (Original airdate October 6, 1997)
Buffy and Giles are suspicious of Ampata, a Peruvian exchange student staying at Buffy's house, when a fellow student goes missing during a school field trip to the Natural History Museum and a broken Peruvian pictogram-cover plate is found in his place. Meanwhile, after Xander falls head over heels for Ampata, he faces certain death when his love interest is revealed to be an ancient mummy who must kill to stay alive.

17. Reptile Boy (Original airdate October 13, 1997)
Buffy and Cordelia become unlikely party pals when at a fraternity bash they are offered as human sacrifices to Machida, a horrible half-man, half-snake creature.

18. Halloween (Original airdate October 27, 1997)
Buffy, Willow and Xander are recruited by Principal Snyder to trick-or-treat with the neighborhood kids, but the night doesn't turn out as they had planned when Buffy's costume causes her to lose her slaying ability and the other kids transform into their costume characters. Meanwhile, when Giles begins to paste together the night's events, he learns that it's his past that is making this a very haunted Halloween.

19. Lie To Me (Original airdate November 3, 1997)
Buffy's fifth grade flame, Billy "Ford" Fordham, unexpectedly arrives in Sunnydale with one motive: to deliver Buffy to Spike in exchange for the immortal life of a vampire. Meanwhile, Buffy and Angel confront their feelings for each other and Angel owns up to his past relationship with Drusilla.

20. The Dark Age (Original airdate November 10, 1997)
Giles' quiet existence in Sunnydale is jeopardized when a murder victim, who is found to be linked to Giles' past, is discovered on the steps of the school library. Meanwhile, when the Mark of Eyghon a demon that takes possession of a dead host takes over Ms. Calendar, Buffy and Angel discover the one way to save her soul.

21. What's My Line? (Part 1) (Original airdate November 17, 1997)
In part one of a two-part episode, Buffy and Angel finally go out on their first date; Angel sets out to hunt down his rival, Spike, however, unbeknownst to Angel, Spike and his new recruits are determined to capture him in hopes of helping the frail Drusilla; and Buffy encounters her new ally, Kendra 

22. What's My Line? (Part 2) (Original airdate November 24, 1997)
In this conclusion of a two-part episode, Buffy reluctantly confronts Kendra the new vampire slayer, only to find that the two are polar opposites in every way. Much to Buffy's chagrin, she must join forces with Kendra to save the man who means the most to her, Angel. Meanwhile, with Buffy on the hunt, Xander and Cordelia are left to wait at Buffy's home where they have a close encounter of their own kind.

23. Ted (Original airdate December 8, 1997)
The whole gang falls for Buffy's mom's new boyfriend, Ted, everyone, that is, except Buffy, who suspects there may be more to him than meets the eye. Meanwhile, Giles tries to repair his relationship with Ms. Calendar after her near-death experience with a demon; and still reluctant to let anyone know about their romantic involvement, Xander and Cordelia continue to hide their rendezvous from their friends.

24. Bad Eggs (Original airdate January 12, 1998)
Buffy and the gang are introduced to parenting through a school assignment that takes a very rotten turn. Meanwhile, two wild west vampires come to town hunting for Buffy. At the same time, romance is in the air when Buffy and Angel continue to rendezvous and Xander and Cordelia keep their liaison in the closet.

25. Surprise (Original airdate January 19, 1998)
The fate of the world is at stake when Spike and Drusilla gather the dismembered body parts of The Judge, a demon with a deadly touch from the ends of the earth as their ultimate weapon to extinguish The Slayer. Meanwhile, Angel's ability to feel human emotion is in jeopardy when he and Buffy share an intimate moment which threatens to destroy his soul.

26. Innocence (Original airdate January 20, 1998)
After Buffy shares an intimate moment with Angel which extinguishes his human soul, she is left with the realization that she must destroy the now-evil Angel who has transformed into his previous persona of Angelus. Meanwhile, Giles' relationship with Jenny Calendar takes on a new twist when he discovers that she is a member of the gypsy family who gave Angel his human soul, and Willow's hopes of a relationship with Xander are dashed when she discovers Xander and Cordelia's secret romance.

27. Phases (Original airdate January 27, 1998)
When a werewolf descends upon the city of Sunnydale, it is up to Buffy and the gang to protect the mostly-human being from an evil poacher who is hunting the animal for sport. Meanwhile, much to Xander's dismay, Willow turns her romantic interests to Oz, unaware of the danger she is about to face.

28. Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered (Original airdate February 10, 1998)
When Cordelia succumbs to peer pressure and breaks off her tryst with Xander, on Valentine's Day, he convinces a witch to put a spell on Cordelia which will make her fall in love with him. But when the spell backfires, the women in Sunnydale, except Cordelia, and including Buffy and Drusilla begin to see Xander in a whole new light.

29. Passion (Original airdate February 24, 1998)
Angel's obsession with tormenting Buffy takes a dangerous turn when he starts edging closer to her heart - and home, forcing Buffy to have a serious talk with her mom. Meanwhile, Jenny is doing everything in her power to right her wrongs, especially the one with Giles.

30. Killed By Death (Original airdate March 3, 1998)
Buffy is admitted to the hospital with a raging fever where she encounters a young child who brings with him nightmares of Buffy's past and present. Meanwhile, a jealous Cordelia looks on as Xander protects a weakened Buffy from Angel's fury.

31. I Only Have Eyes For You (Original airdate April 28, 1998)
Buffy encounters a tortured spirit haunting the halls of Sunnydale High and recruits her friends to help the bitter spirit in its quest for peace. Meanwhile, Giles is filled with anguish when he believes the spiritual being is Jenny trapped and trying to impart a final message to him from the beyond.

32. Go Fish (Original airdate May 5, 1998)
When a monster starts preying on members of the high school swim team, Buffy takes it upon herself to become the protector of the star players. Meanwhile, Xander goes undercover to discover the truth about the missing teammates and ends up revealing a rarely seen side of himself.

33. Becoming (Part One of a Two-Part Season Finale) (Original airdate May 12, 1998)
A web of conspiracy, suspense and heart break surround the second season finale of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer." Buffy determines the time has come to destroy Angel and must ascertain if she is ready to sacrifice all she knows to be true to do so, but her decision is further entangled when Willow uncovers the secret that may restore Buffy's former beloved. Elsewhere, Angel chooses to unearth an evil demon that could swallow the earth and all of the beings, rather than return to the arms of his former lover.

34. Becoming (Part Two of a Two-Part Season Finale) (Original airdate May 19, 1998)
The suspense continues as hell prepares to swallow the world and Buffy is left alone to stop it. With Giles in the hands of the enemy and Angel primed for destruction, Buffy is forced into some treacherous alliances and faced with life-changing decisions.

 


Season 3

35. Anne (Original airdate September 29, 1998)
After killing Angel and getting kicked out by her mom last season, Buffy fled Sunnydale. Hoping to find greener pastures, she moved to the city where she intends to keep a low profile by assuming a new identity. But as Giles hunts for his missing pupil and the gang takes care of the slaying, Buffy is pulled back into the game when a devilish stranger begins preying on homeless teens. The encounter takes Buffy to Hell and back (literally), forcing her to examine the wreckage of her past and the anguish she's caused those she left behind.
 
36. Dead Man's Party (Original airdate October 6, 1998)
As Buffy tries to make amends with her mom and the gang, a flock of unstoppable zombies arrive in Sunnydale. And when they crash the welcome home party, Buffy gets a chance to prove the she will not let down her family or friends again.
 
37. Faith, Hope, and Trick (Original airdate October 13, 1998)
Just as Buffy tries to return to her normal life of going to school, hanging out with friends and saving the world, she is faced with the arrival of an ancient, cloven-hoofed villain and his blood-sucking sidekick, Mr. Trick Another new Sunnydale arrival, Faith, helps Buffy in her battle against the unspeakable demons and ingratiates herself into every aspect of Buffy's life.
 
38. All Men Are Beasts aka Beauty and the Beasts (Original airdate October 20 1998)
When a Sunnydale High student is found savagely mauled in the woods, Willow fears that Oz in werewolf mode might somehow be responsible for the violent murder. Meanwhile, Buffy secretly discovers that Angel has returned after 100 years of hellish torture, and she suspects that he is the murderous culprit.
 
39. Homecoming (Original airdate November 3, 1998)
With Cordelia flaunting her sure win in the race for Homecoming Queen, she awakens the Prom Queen from within Buffy , who tries to enlist the entire gang to help her show Cordy how it's done, but some of their allegiances may be elsewhere. Meanwhile, the blood-sucking Mr. Trick assembles a host of killers in Sunnydale for a thrilling hunt to the death to bring down the two slayers.
 
40. Band Candy (Original airdate November 10, 1998)
Buffy is forced to grow up even faster when Mr. Trick executes a devious plot to render the town defenseless by causing Sunnydale's adult population to behave as irresponsible adolescents. Meanwhile, Buffy struggles to keep Angel's return and recovery a secret while her mom and Giles schedule her life 24 hours a day.
 
41. Revelations (Original airdate November 17, 1998)
Tempers run hot when the gang learns of Angel's return and Buffy's hiding this vicious killer, but they all must co operate to fight a demon who has arrived in Sunnydale in search of a highly powerful weapon. Meanwhile, Faith meets her new watcher.
 
42. Lovers Walk (Original airdate November 24, 1998)
Just as Buffy enjoys a minute to revel in her S.A.T. scores and ponder her bright future, the underworld version of Sid Vicious, Spike, returns to Sunnydale who has been left in the dust by his love Drusilla and is back to punish every one who is to blame, especially Angel . Meanwhile, Willow prepares a de-lusting spell to keep her and Xander's hormones in check during a double bowling date with Cordelia and Oz.
 
43. The Wish (Original airdate December 8, 1998)
Cordelia tries to get her life back to normal without Xander but fails. She decides that all her troubles started when Buffy moved to Sunnydale, and whishes that event never happened. Not knowing that a an evil genie would grant her fateful wish, Cordelia is transported into an altered reality in which the Hellmouth is open and The Master is alive and ruling, with Willow and Xander as his undead minions.
 
44. Amends (Original airdate December 15, 1998)
As Buffy and her friends make plans for a quiet Christmas vacation, Angel is haunted by visions of his violent, demonic past, including the ghost of Jenny Calendar . Meanwhile, Willow goes to great, seductive lengths to try to convince Oz that he is the one for her; and Xander painfully adjusts to his life without Cordelia
 
45. Gingerbread (Original airdate January 12, 1999)
Picking the worst possible night for a surprise "mother-daughter bonding" visit with Buffy, Joyce is haunted by the discovery of two murdered children and feels compelled to take drastic action. When Giles suggests that the killings appear to be an occult sacrifice, Joyce rallies the entire adult population of Sunnydale behind a witch hunt, leading the them directly to Willow, Amy and Buffy.
 
46. Helpless (Original airdate January 19, 1999)
For her upcoming 18th birthday, Buffy refrains from her friends' offer of a big party, hoping to celebrate it with a traditional trip to the ice show with her father. But unknown to Buffy, preparations are being made for a life-threatening rite of passage that drains the slayer of her powers and then entraps her with a powerful vampire enemy that she must defeat in a defenseless state in order to pass the test.
 
47. The Zeppo (Original airdate January 26, 1999)
Xander's lack of slaying superpowers has him feeling painfully expendable, but his quest to prove he's cool leads him to an unforgettable night that finds him consorting with fast women, raising the dead and rolling with a dangerous crowd that could put Sunnydale in a world of hurt. Meanwhile, Buffy, Giles and the rest of the crew engage in a furious battle with an all-female apocalypse cult that intends to reopen the Hellmouth and bring about the end of the world.

48. Bad Girls (Original airdate February 9, 1999)
A taste of the wild life leaves Buffy wanting more, and while Sunnydale is being inhabited by a long-dead demon and his vampire minions, Buffy follows Faith into her irresponsible world of reckless slaying abandon. Meanwhile, Giles fights to maintain his sanity in the face of the pompous and stuffy new watcher, while Willow, Xander and Oz ponder their options for life after high school.

49. Consequences (Original airdate February 16, 1999)
Buffy is haunted by the consequences of her and Faith's reckless behavior as she battles with Faith's apparent lack of remorse to keep her from continuing on her destructive path. Meanwhile, the new watcher Wesley overrides Giles' objections and instructs Buffy and Faith to get to the bottom of the recent murder, while the Mayor and Trick are thrilled by the possibility of imprisoning a slayer for the murder.

50. Doppelgängland (Original airdate February 23, 1999)
Buffy and the real Willow must save the day when from the bleak alternate universe in which vampires rule Sunnydale, Willow's blood-sucking doppelganger is brought forth into this world and wreaks havoc and confusion on Sunnydale. Meanwhile, Buffy goes into full training mode so she can ace out Faith on the Watchers Council tests, while Faith's unholy new alliance is already paying handsome dividends.

51. Enemies (Original airdate March 16, 1999)
Faith and the Mayor's secret alliance becomes an all-powerful triumvirate of evil against Buffy when they conspire to rob Angel of his soul. Meanwhile, Giles has unofficially resumed his role as Watcher, as Wesley is distracted from his sacred duties by Cordelia's amorous attention.

52. Earshot (Original airdate March 21, 1999)
A near-fatal run-in with a pair of oozy, mouthless demons unexpectedly leaves Buffy with the awesome ability to hear other people's thoughts, but this newfound power ultimately threatens to overwhelm and destroy her as the cacophony of thoughts isolates her from the rest of the world and drives her to the brink of insanity. When Buffy's clairvoyance unearths a potential mass murder plan at the school, Giles, Willow and the rest of the gang spring into action to locate the would-be killer and thwart a schoolyard massacre, while Angel endeavors to keep Buffy from spiraling into telepathy-induced madness.
 
53. Choices (Original airdate May 4, 1999)
Since Faith's turn to the dark side seems to have put the proverbial kibosh on Buffy's chances of ever getting out of Sunnydale to go away to college, Buffy decides to launch an offensive and shut down the Mayor's plans for "Ascension." Meanwhile, plans for the future are the order of the day, as Willow tries to choose among a bevy of college acceptances, Xander prepares to hit the road on a Kerouac-inspired adventure and Buffy and Angel refuse to face the insurmountable obstacles to a successful life together.

54. The Prom (Original airdate May 11, 1999)
Spring has definitely sprung in Sunnydale as talk turns to all things Prom, and while Buffy and Angel grapple with the impossibility of a future together, she is determined on keeping a villain intent on crashing the Prom from ruining her friends' perfect high school moment. Meanwhile, a chance encounter between Xander and Cordelia may have reopened their lines of communication, but he is saddled with a demonic Prom date while Cordy only has eyes for the new watcher Wesley.

55. Graduation Day, (Part 1) (Original airdate May 18, 1999)
As Buffy, Willow, Xander, Oz and Cordelia ready for their long-awaited graduation day, the Mayor makes preparations for his Ascension and transformation into pure demon at the climax of his commencement address to the Class of 1999. With the fate of the world in true peril, Buffy is distracted from her purpose when Angel is weakened with a lethal poison, and it's slayer against slayer when Buffy faces Faith for what may be the last time.

56. Graduation Day, (Part 2) (Original airdate June 13, 1999)
As the hours tick away to the fateful graduation of Sunnydale High School's Class of 1999, the impending doom of the Mayor's ascension and transformation into pure demon hangs heavy with Buffy. With Angel near death, Buffy must risk her own life and defy the orders of the Watchers Council in order lead a campaign to save the world.

 


Season 4

57. The Freshman (Original airdate October 5, 1999)
Trying to adjust to the rigors of college life proves to be harder than Buffy imagined. She moves into a dorm, must contend with a less-than-stable roommate and the complexities of dating college men. On campus, Willow is overly enthused about college life and her ongoing romance with Oz, and Xander unexpectedly returns from his self-discovery adventure. Elsewhere, Giles seems to be enjoying his life away from being a librarian and a Watcher
 
58. Living Conditions (Original airdate October 12, 1999)
Dorm life proves to be quite an adjustment for Buffy when her roommate drives her crazy with her idiosyncrasies even invading Buffy's dreams and the gang must come together to find away to get her to move out. Away from the dorm, Buffy meets Parker Finch, a handsome older classman who is the first guy Buffy has been attracted to since her break-up with Angel.

59. The Harsh Light of Day (Original airdate October 19, 1999)
The underworld version of Sid Vicious, Spike, returns to Sunnydale in search of the vampire version of the Holy Grail, a mythical relic that supposedly engenders the wearer with unimaginable powers, and it's up to Buffy to stop him. Meanwhile, Buffy is distracted by dating issues as she deals with her feelings for a new boy who happens to not be a blood-sucking vampire, but is equally as difficult to understand. Xander has romance issues of his own when his prom date from last spring, Anya, can't get the X-man out of her mind.

60. Fear, Itself (Original airdate October 26, 1999)
Buffy reluctantly agrees to join Willow, Oz and Xander at a Halloween party where they stumble into a real-life house of horrors masquerading as an innocuous fraternity. Meanwhile, Giles is called upon to help out the college crowd when all he wants is to get into the spirit of the holiday.

61. Beer Bad (Original airdate November 2, 1999)
When Buffy is befriended by a group of upperclassmen who convince her to drown her sorrows with them, bartender Xander becomes suspicious when Buffy and her new friends return to their primordial roots. Back at The Bronze, Willow is aware of Oz's attention being turned to a new performer, the sexual and charismatic Veruca.

62. Wild at Heart (Original airdate November 9, 1999)
Buffy does her best to console Willow when Oz is undeniably drawn to another woman, Veruca. Even after it is discovered that his attraction stems from the fact that she is also a werewolf, his powerful primitive instincts may be too innate to ignore.

63. The Initiative (Original airdate November 16, 1999)
Unbeknownst to Buffy and the gang, Spike is captured by a commando squad for The Initiative, a mysterious underground laboratory beneath the streets of U.C. Sunnydale. Meanwhile, Buffy's Psych T.A., Riley, has a major slayer crush and turns to Willow for advice on ways to woo.

64. Pangs (Original airdate November 23, 1999)
A DRAMATIC "BUFFY"/"ANGEL" TWO-HOUR EVENT - Unbeknownst to Buffy, Angel lurks in the shadows of Sunnydale trying to protect her and keep her safe, while her perfect Thanksgiving feast is disrupted by an army of Chumash Indians, the original inhabitants of Sunnydale, whose spirits have come alive to recreate the wrongs that were done to their people.

65. Something Blue (Original airdate November 30, 1999)
Buffy is only one of many who must bear the repercussions of a spell gone awry when Willow, pining over the disappearance of Oz, tries to imbue herself with the power to have her will done. The fallout includes Buffy falling in love with Spike and planning to marry him, Giles going blind and Xander becoming even more of a demon magnet.

66. Hush (Original airdate December 14, 1999)
A silence falls over Sunnydale when otherworldly beings come to town and steal the power of speech from all the residents. Meanwhile, Riley gets is his first clue to Buffy's slayer side when they have a fight with the outside visitor, and Willow attends a Wicca group that's not all she had hoped.

67. Doomed (Original airdate January 18, 2000)
While Buffy and Riley grapple to come to terms with what they now know about each other, the reopening of the Sunnydale Hellmouth sends Buffy and the gang back to high school to prevent impending apocalypse. Meanwhile, Spike has lost all will to live without the ability to kill, but he grows heartened by the approaching end of the world.

68. A New Man (Original airdate January 25, 2000)
Buffy and Riley explore the extent of each other's powers as they become more romantically entwined. Feeling left out these days, Giles turns to his old buddy Ethan Rayne for camaraderie, but Giles must rely on an unlikely source when he is transformed into a demon and mistakenly hunted down by an unknowing Buffy.

69. The I in Team (Original airdate February 8, 2000)
Buffy's friends become hurt and concerned when her involvement with Riley and the Initiative becomes more intense. Meanwhile, Professor Walsh sends the slayer on a mission that brings her close to revealing a dangerous secret.
 
70. Goodbye Iowa (Original airdate February 15, 2000)
Buffy and Riley's relationship is put to the test when she investigates Professor Walsh's death and comes up against the Initiative's secret weapon. While Buffy is trying to find a way to save Sunnydale from rogue warrior demon on the loose, Riley becomes paranoid and delusional and challenges Buffy when he discovers that his mentor has been killed. Elsewhere in town, Spike has become the outcast among demons since he has taken up with the Scooby-Doo Gang.
 
71. This Year's Girl (Part 1) (February 22, 2000)
Buffy is preoccupied with catching the creature that attacked Riley, but her problems are just beginning when she learns that Faith has awakened from her coma and has gone seeking revenge to the only home in which Faith remembers Buffy living. Meanwhile, once she is set free, Faith receives a mysterious gift left behind from the Mayor.

72. Who Are You (Part 2) (February 29, 2000)
Buffy battles to escape the clutches of the Watcher's Council special operations team who plan to send her to England, while Faith continues to wreak havoc in the lives of Buffy's family and friends. Meanwhile, it's Willow and Tara who figure out Buffy's whereabouts, but not before Faith has done some serious damage to Buffy's relationship with Riley.
 
73. Superstar (Original airdate April 4, 2000)
Buffy, still reeling from the discovery that Riley was intimate with Faith, must put aside her personal emotions and summon the strength to uncover why the entire town thinks that former high school nerd, Jonathan, is Sunnydale's newest version of a superhero.

74. Where the Wild Things Are (Original airdate April 25, 2000)
Buffy and Riley unleash a powerful supernatural force that awakens during a Lowell House fraternity party and causes everyone's hormones to kick into overdrive, threatening the very lives of Buffy and Riley. In order to free them, the gang must battle the spirits of children from the 1950s who have come back to avenge past abuses.
 
75. New Moon Rising (Original airdate May 2, 2000)
Willow and her friends are stunned when Oz returns to Sunnydale claiming he still loves Willow and has his full moon frolics under control. Meanwhile, Willow tries to sort out her feelings for Oz and finally tells Buffy about her new relationship with Tara. But when the moon sets, a transformed Oz is captured by The Initiative and an unlikely source breaks his alliance to come to the rescue.
76. The Yoko Factor (Original airdate May 9, 2000)
Buffy is even more certain of her love for Riley when Angel's surprise visit to Sunnydale brings Riley and Angel to blows. Meanwhile, Spike joins forces with Adam and devises a plan to tear the Slayer apart from her gang, leaving her wide open for her enemies to attack.
 
77. Primeval (Original airdate May 16, 2000)
Buffy's estrangement from her friends and Giles threatens to keep the group from stopping Adam's plan to design a master race of human/demon hybrids. Elsewhere, Riley is captured by Adam and learns that before Professor Walsh death, she had implanted Riley with a chip that could destroy his power and bond him to Adam forever.
 
78. Restless (Original airdate May 23, 2000)
A primal animal force stalks Buffy, Willow, Xander and Giles in their nightmares as they each come face to face with their worst fears.

79. Buffy vs. Dracula (Original airdate September 26, 2000)
Still searching for a normal life, Buffy is shaken by the awesome power - and more than a little star-struck - when she and her friends come face to face with the greatest vampire of all time, Dracula (guest star Rudolf Martin, "Bedazzled"). While Buffy is powerless under Dracula's thrall, Xander becomes the dark one's emissary and leads his friends into peril. Meanwhile, unbeknownst to Buffy, Giles is seriously contemplating returning to England as he feels she no longer needs his help.

While Buffy and Giles heat up the training, Buffy and Dawns sibling rivalry gets them into trouble when a new gang of vampires target the slayer. Across town, when the magic shop is ransacked and the owner killed, Giles thinks he may have found a new hub for the Scooby gang.

81. The Replacement (Original airdate October 10, 2000)
NICHOLAS BRENDON'S IDENTICAL TWIN BROTHER GUEST-STARS When a crafty demon out Buffy hunting accidentally catches Xander in his sights, a mysterious Xander double (guest star Kelly Schultz) is born. Two Xanders aren't better than one as the evil double quickly takes over Xander's identity, fooling everyone including Buffy, and starts living Xander's life with a flourish.

82. Out of My Mind (Original airdate October 17, 2000)
Buffy is in a race against time when the physical aftereffects of Riley's being used as a lab rat for months by The Initiative threatens his very life. When Riley stubbornly refuses help and goes into hiding, Buffy reluctantly turns to Spike for help, but he takes advantage of her situation for his own plot to rid his life of the slayer once and for all.
83. No Place Like Home (Original airdate October 24, 2000)
An unseen evil comes to Sunnydale that helps Buffy discover more about her newly arrived little sister Dawn and the girls are distressed and confused when their mom suddenly becomes ill without any clear explanation, medical or supernatural.

84. Family (Original airdate November 7, 2000)
Willow feels betrayed when Tara's family makes a surprise visit to Sunnydale for her birthday threatening to reveal a shocking secret that could endanger all of their lives. Meanwhile, Buffy and Giles secretly try to learn more about the new evil that is hunting her and her family.

In an effort to learn about slayers' final battles, Buffy forces Spike to recount how he was able to kill two slayers. His flashbacks reveal his first meeting with his one true love, Drusilla, and how lovers Angel and Darla joined them.

Spike disrupts Buffy's one moment of peace after her mom's successful operation to expose Riley's late nights spent in the arms of a vampire, sending an upset and bewildered Buffy into a tailspin and putting their relationship in turmoil.

While Buffy recovers from losing Riley, emotions are charged between Willow and Anya when they are left in charge of the magic shop and Willow accidentally conjures an enormous troll that will force them to deal with their less than perfect friendship and their feelings towards Xander.

The Watcher's Council arrives in Sunnydale demanding Buffy pass an exhaustive review of her slaying skills or they will withhold critical information about Glory and have Giles deported back to England.

As Buffy and friends celebrate her 20th birthday, Dawn is traumatized to learn she is the Key and runs away but Buffy and the Scooby gang must find her before Glory does.

Buffy confronts Spike about his suspected crush and is appalled by his admission of love, and her brutal rejection sends him back into the clutches of Drusilla who has returned to Sunnydale intent on returning Spike to his killer ways.

Buffy must stop a heartbroken young woman, who was manufactured to be the perfect girlfriend from destroying the city and then finds herself comforting the creation over the loss of love in both of their lives.

94. The Body (Original airdate February 27, 2001)
Buffy and her friends are overwhelmed with grief and their lives are changed forever when they must deal with the loss of someone close to all of them.

95. Forever (Original airdate April 17, 2001)
A grieving and confused Buffy falls into the loving arms of Angel who comes back to Sunnydale after he gets word about the death of her mother. Meanwhile, a distraught Dawn takes it upon herself to perform a magic spell to bring her mom back to life.

96. Intervention (Original airdate April 24, 2001)
Buffy travels to a sacred location on a solemn quest guided by the first slayer with the hopes of uncovering why she has become emotionally paralyzed and to help regain her focus towards slaying. Back in Sunnydale, unable to have the real thing, Spike builds a Buffy robot, who is a picture-perfect replica and so devoted to the rogue that it leaves the Scooby gang reeling and Glory's minions convinced he is the Key.

97. Tough Love (Original airdate May 1, 2001)
Buffy must step up as the authority figure for Dawn now that their mom is gone, all the while fearful that Glory is closer to discovering the Key when a member of the Scooby gang is her latest victim.

98. Spiral (Original airdate May 8, 2001)
Buffy explodes into action and takes the gang on the road once Glory discovers that Dawn is the Key. While on the run, things happen fast as Giles and Spike are wounded, Dawn learns she has the power to destroy the universe, and Willow stays close to an incoherent Tara.

99. The Weight OF The World (Original airdate May 15, 2001)
Buffy slips into catatonia after Glory kidnaps Dawn and prepares to bring about the end of the world, so Willow uses her Wicca talents to reach Buffy deep inside her innermost secrets and subconscious fears.

100. The Gift (Original airdate May 22, 2001)
Another imminent apocalypse is at hand in Sunnydale. Buffy must square off against a true God when Glory prepares to use Dawn to break down the walls between the dimensions and unleash all Hell on Earth. Season 6

101 and 102. Bargaining (Original airdate October 2, 2001)
Buffy's friends try to cope with Buffy's death and are left to defend Sunnydale without her. Meanwhile a gang of marauding demons threaten to jeopardize their plan to bring the slayer back from the dead. To complicate matters, Giles contemplates leaving Sunnydale to come to terms with the loss, on the special two-hour season premiere of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer". 103. After Life (Original airdate October 9, 2001
Buffy has been resurrected from the grave and although she's a bit shaken from her return trip from a hell dimension, everything would appear to be falling back into place. Or is it? After re-associating Buffy (who we find out has been dead for one-hundred and forty-seven days) with her once familiar surroundings and friends, strange things begin happening. Did the gang bring back a tortured and evil Buffy from the grave? Or, did something else come with her? Why is Spike suddenly returning to his romantic days? Our two fave mega-witches, Willow and Tara, start hitting the books to find out why several demonic possessions are taking place within the click. What they find out is almost as shocking as Buffy's death and resurrection.

104. Flooded (Original airdate October 16, 2001)
Buffy's readjustment to the land of the living is not going so hot. Her basement is flooded, she's bankrupt and - oh yes - the M'Fashnik Demon is hell-bent on killing her. Also: Giles returns; a trio of slackers plots the takeover of Sunnydale.

105. Life Serial (Original airdate October 23, 2001)
Jonathan, Warren and Andrew test Buffy's abilities---and patience---with a secret campaign of harassment. The Slayer struggles to readjust to life in Sunnydale by attending classes with Willow and working with Xander.
 
106. All the Way (Original airdate October 30, 2001)
In a quirky and erudite episode, a sudden announcement sends the Scooby Gang into celebration mode on Halloween, but plenty of frights come to light when Dawn disappears. Anya, who has been bugging Xander to announce their engagement for months, finally gets her wish. After Xander drops his bombshell, Buffy and company throw a party for the couple. Only then do they realize that Dawn has sneaked out with a friend. Out on the town, the younger Summers winds up meeting a teen who craves more than just mischief.

107. Once More with Feeling (Original airdate November 6, 2001)
Series creator Joss Whedon wrote, directed and composed the music for this episode in which a mysterious force impels the Scooby Gang to burst into song. Sunnydale denizens become players in production numbers in which cast members do their own vocals.

The clean slate. Where are the Scoobies to go now after their run in with the musical demon? After revealing all of their secrets to each other, what would happen if they couldn't remember anything?

While Jonathan, Warren, and Andrew work to obtain a mystical diamond that will help them defeat the Slayer, Spike learns that there is something wrong with his chip that seems to allow him to attack people. Meanwhile, Willow reunites with an old friend to cause some magical mayhem.

As Buffy continues to fight her continued attraction to Spike, Willow and Amy's relationship leads them to a very dangerous place. Will Buffy and her friends be able to stop Willow's descent into magical addiction?

When Buffy wakes up, she's in a white walled Asylum with a hypodermic needle in her arm. Two orderlies try to hold her down and her doctor tells her that all her friends at Sunnydale are part of an elaborate delusion she's been trapped in for 6 years.

118. Entropy (Original airdate April 30, 2002)
Spike threatens to expose his and Buffy's liaisons. For Anya and Xander the confusion continues and Anya finds that her demon side is still within her. Is she able to get vengeance on Xander for the hurt he has caused?

119. Seeing Red (Original airdate May 7, 2002)
Reunited, Willow and Tara talk about the far-reaching consequences of Anya and Spike's closed-circuit dalliance. When Tara spills that Buffy and Spike have been doing the wild thing for some time, Willow decides to talk to Buffy, but the Slayers room is empty. That's because Buffys kicking in the door to the Evil Trio's lair.

120. Villains (Original airdate May 14, 2002)
Willow arrives at the Magic Box, determined to gain strength. Anya protests, but Willow puts the whammy on her and pulls dark power from dozens of black magic books.


121. Two To Go (Part 1) (Original airdate May 21, 2002)
Buffy, Anya and Xander tear through the forest, convinced that Willow is after Andrew and Jonathan. Anya uses magic to teleport herself to the nerds' holding cell, while Buffy and Xander have to use more conventional methods.
 
122. Grave (Part 2) (Original airdate May 21, 2002)
"Uh oh, Daddy's home," jeers Willow as Giles enters the magic shop. He's there to help, and soon binds Willow under a stasis spell. Buffy and Anya embrace him, relieved to have him home. Giles heard from a coven in England about the rise of a new power in Sunnydale, and his magic is being funneled

 

Season 7

123. Lessons (Original airdate 24 September 2002)
The re-opening of Sunnydale High School is not without trouble for Buffy as some undead students and faculty are raised, and blame the Slayer for failing to protect them. Dawn and Buffy, together with some of Dawn's new friends join together to defeat the evil. Meanwhile, Spike and his new soul are seeking solace in the maze-like basement of the new school, and Willow begins her redemption with Giles in England.


124. Beneath You (Original airdate 1 October 2002)
Soon after Buffy's first day as Sunnydale High Guidance Counselor, the gang meets a young woman, Nancy, who's dog was eaten by a large creature living in the sewer. Spike offers his assistance in tracking down the monster, but the gang and Buffy are still a little uneasy with him being around. The gang soon discover the cause behind the monster is an old, estranged friend; who is relishing in her return to form. Meanwhile, Willow has mixed emotions as she prepares to leave England and return to Sunnydale.



125. Same Time, Same Place (Original airdate 8 October 2002)
Buffy, Xander and Dawn are unable to find Willow who, shortly after returning to Sunnydale, is captured by a demon who enjoys eating the skin of his victims. Meanwhile, Anya pays the price for undoing the curse on Ronnie (the giant worm demon) and is restricted to only being able to teleport for vengeance jobs.


126. Help (Original airdate 15 October 2002)
Buffy is settling in to her counselor's role at the high school helping troubled teens and sorting out problems, but is left speechless when Cassie, a student, comes to her and calmly tells her that she (Cassie) has only a week to live. Suspecting the girl is suicidal, Buffy investigates and discovers a cult of students playing with dark forces and comes to believe Cassie is psychic.


127. Selfless (Original airdate 22 October 2002)
Anya grants a young woman's wish, but the violent and deadly act of vengeance leaves Anya completely guilt-ridden. In order to fix her mistake, she asks that the spell be undone. Knowing the price of the reversal is the life of a Vengeance Demon, she's willing to make the sacrifice.



128. Him (Original airdate 5 November 2002)
Emergency cheerleader tryouts are held at Sunnydale High when one of the squad has a nasty run-in with a vending machine. Spike and Xander team up, to take on a star quarterback, that seems to have the ability to make all women infatuated with him. As a result of this, we see a different side of Dawn.


129. Conversations With Dead People (Original airdate 12 November 2002)
While out on patrol, Buffy squares off with a former classmate and current vampire, who goads her into revealing her insecurities. Back at home, Dawn is thrown into a panic when an invisible force trashes the Summers' house and deposits the corpse of her mother on the sofa. Meanwhile, nerdy villains Jonathan and Andrew return from Mexico.



130. Sleeper (Original airdate 19 November 2002)
Fearful that Spike may be killing again, the gang's investigation into his mysterious behavior climaxes in a formidable confrontation between him and Buffy. Meanwhile, Giles makes what may be a cataclysmic discovery that could affect everyone's future.



131. Never Leave Me (Original airdate 26 November 2002)
Spike is held captive in the Summers home while the Scoobies ponder their options in the aftermath of his murder spree. Willow finds Andrew buying blood and decides to take him prisoner also. After much questioning, the gang are interrupted by mysterious hooded figures called Bringers. They take Spike to Sunnydale High, where they use his blood to raise an old, mysterious vampire.



 
132. Bring On The Night (Original airdate 17 December 2002)
With Spike missing, the gang try to cope and clear the damage done to the Summer's home. Giles arrives with three potential slayers. He reveals that 'The First Evil' is killing off the line of slayers in an attempt to rid the world of good, leaving The Hellmouth free to open. He tells Buffy that there are more potential slayers on their way to Sunnydale. Buffy and Giles search the Christmas tree lot, Buffy goes underground and is challenged by a very strong vampire who is luckily scared off by the sunrise. Giles confirms that he was a Turok-Han, a vampire which vampires fear. After one of the other slayers gets killed trying to escape, Buffy comes across the Turok-Han once again, it beats Buffy within an inch of her life and remains unharmed. Later on at the Summer's home, Buffy declares that she isn't going down without a fight, and neither is anyone else.



133. Showtime (Original airdate 7 January 2003)
In a attempt to build an army, the gang decide that it's time to locate every last remaining potential slayer. After more are brought to the Summer's home, the Turok-Han and 'The First' attack. Willow performs a spell to keep them out, but it isn't strong enough. Buffy runs one way as bait, while Xander escorts the potential slayers to his construction site to hide. The Turok-Han arrives at the construction site, but Buffy gets there just in time. She surprisingly defeats the Turok-Han with ease, but Spike is still missing. After enduring painful torture and being tricked by manifestations, Spike is greeted by a heroic Buffy. They escape and return to her house. Giles and Anya visit an Oracle and discover that when Buffy was resurrected, she created a vulnerability in the slayer chain.


134. Potential (Original airdate 21 January 2003)
Willow performs a locator spell to try and find more potential slayers, but to her surprise, the spell locates a student at Sunnydale High. Buffy, Spike and the Potential Slayers search for the harbingers, so they can take them out. They visit a demon bar, where they meet an old friend.



135. The Killer In Me (Original airdate 4 February 2003)
Buffy tries to contact Riley, concerning a problem with Spike's chip. With no luck, she and Spike decide to check the initiative caves for information. They discover some soldiers, who give Spike a choice. Giles takes the potential slayers on a retreat to the desert, where he is interrupted by the Scoobies. They question him about being The First, and he reveals that he isn't. He then sets off for Shanghai, where another potential slayer awaits. Willow is spending a lot of quality time with Kennedy. She tells Kennedy about Tara and the events of last year.


136. First Date (Original airdate 11 February 2003)
Buffy goes on a dinner date with Principal Wood, so that she can confirm any suspicions that she has about him. During their conversation, he explains that he is the son of a Slayer, that was killed in New York. Buffy has to end her date, so that she can be with Spike. Anya is jealous when Xander goes out on a date with someone, who turns out to be far from human. Willow and Kennedy finally tell the gang that they are an item. Meanwhile, Giles has trouble communicating with a potential slayer named Chao-Ahn, who doesn't speak a word of English. He also wrongly suggests that Buffy's ability to make decisions, is clouded by her love for Spike, when she reveals that the Initiative are taking the chip out of his head.

137. Get It Done (Original Airdate 18 February 2003)

Principal Wood gives Buffy a bag of items that used to belong to his mother, the slayer killed on the subway by Spike. The bag contains many various items including weapons, a book, and a strange sealed box. After opening the box, Buffy and gang watch a puppet show that opens a portal sending Buffy to a strange land and leaving in her wake a demon.



138. Storyteller (Original Airdate 25 February 2003)

Andrew creates "Buffy, Slayer of the Vampyres", a documentary describing the current situation in Sunnydale to show to future generations. Many emotions are captured during its filming, from Willow and Kennedy's make out fest to the recognition of what would be Xander and Anya's 1 year anniversary. Meanwhile, the Hellmouth, or more appropriately, the Seal of Danzalthar, is activated causing outbreaks of violence and mystical occurrences at the high school.



139. Lies My Parents Told Me (Original Airdate 25 March 2003)

Giles returns with a device that will deactivate Spike's trigger. It takes him into his past and shows the close relationship with his mother, who used to sing 'Early One Morning' to him. After he was sired by Drusilla he tried to save his dying mother by vamping her, but she turned on him and he had to stake her, leaving an emotional wound that has never managed to heal.




140. Dirty Girls (Original Airdate 15 April 2003)

As they drive into town, Willow and Faith find themselves behind a truck. A young girl is thrown out with a deep wound and the truck drives off. The girl is unconcious so they take her to the hospital and report to Buffy. Faith's arrival brings a lot of tension to Buffy's house.





141. Empty Places (Original Airdate 29 April 2003)

Following Caleb's attack, Xander is now blind in one eye. Buffy takes all the guilt and again encounters Caleb at the abandoned school. Faith presses her fun-loving nature on the potentials and takes them all to the Bronze, which leads to an argument between Faith and Buffy, culminating in forcing the potentials to choose between their two leaders.



142. Touched (Original Airdate 6 May 2003)


After being kicked out of her house, Buffy walks alone and breaks into another house to get some sleep. Spike and Andrew return with news about the vineyard, but when Spike finds out what happened he hits Faith and leaves, trying to pick up Buffy's scent. The First pays Faith a visit in the form of the Mayor, but she isn't fooled. It tries to unbalance her by saying that Buffy still, and will always think of her only as a killer.



143. End Of Days (Original Airdate 13 May 2003)


Buffy finds the weapon The First is keeping from her: a scythe embedded in stone. Buffy easily pulls it free much to Caleb's dismay and The First tells Caleb to let her go. Faith and the potentials get caught in the explosion, leaving many dead and Faith unconscious.



144. Chosen (Original Airdate 20 May 2003) (Finale)


Buffy and Angel's reunion is interrupted by Caleb, who is ready for a final battle. Buffy slices him in half, starting with his testicles. With Caleb dead, Buffy returns to Angel, who can smell Spike all over her. He is jealous, especially when he realises that he is no longer unique.
