Tru Calling Episode Guide

Season 1

1. Pilot: (Originally aired on: 30 October 2003)

Tru questions reality when she thinks she hears a murder victim asking for her help. But the next morning, Tru wakes up to find that she is back at the beginning of the previous day -- twelve hours before a murder that only she knows is about to take place. With the clock ticking, she is compelled to scour the city of New York to prevent this wrongful death, while at the same time trying to make a difference in her family’s unhappy lives.

2. Putting Out Fires: (Originally aired on: 6 November 2003)

When the corpse of a handsome young man asks for Tru's help, she quickly learns he's a determined firefighter that is going to be killed trying to save two children trapped in an apartment building fire.

3. Brother's Keeper: (Originally aired on: 13 November 2003)

When Tru's brother, Harrison, falls in love with a beautiful young woman, Sarah, only Tru knows that he could be implicated in the death of the woman's estranged husband. Tru must race against time in order to keep her brother from committing murder or being killed himself.

4. Past Tense: (Originally aired on: 20 November 2003)

When five bodies arrive in the morgue and ask for her help, Tru's mission is five times more difficult. Re-living the day, she learns that the victims died at a bachelor party, and poses as a bartender to gain access. In the process, she meets a dark-haired hunk (Luc) who, in the future, may be Tru's Mr. Right.

5. Haunted: (Originally aired on: 4 December 2003)

When the body of a young medical student comes into the morgue, Tru must pose as a fellow student in order to stop what looks like a simple drug overdose. While trying to save this latest victim, Tru learns the meaning of "flatlining," and gets a glimpse of the life that she's always wanted but that her own powers may prevent her from ever having. Tru runs into Luc again, and this time, some sparks fly. At the end of this episode, Tru discovers that Davis knows her "calling," and may be able to help her.

6. Star Crossed: (Originally aired on: 11 December 2003)

When a pair of teenagers, Jen and Adam, killed in a tragic car accident appeal for Tru's help, she must pose as a high school student to get close to them. Tru races against time to prevent the fatal accident from happening, goes out on a date with Luc, and ends up kissing him in the last scene.

7. Morning After: (Originally aired on: 18 December 2003)

When Tru's ex-boyfriend Mark ends up dead in her bed she has to get closer to him to prevent it from happening.



8. Closure: (Originally aired on: 18 December 2003)

Tru celebrates her first night off from the morgue by throwing a party, but the evening takes a dangerous turn when her ex-boyfriend, Mark, shows up uninvited. Things go from bad to worse when she wakes up the next morning and finds Mark in her bed, stabbed to death. Unable to remember the previous night's events, Tru fears that she is the prime suspect. In the process, she must prove to Luc that she cares for him and earn back his trust.


9. Murder in the Morgue: (Originally aired on: 15 January 2004)

When a dead bride still in her wedding dress comes into the morgue and Tru finds a man claiming to be her fiancée removing her bullet she and Davis intervenes. He shoots at both of them, but before the bullet hits Tru, her day rewinds, and she has to find out who the mysterious man is, and what's his connection with the bride. But the killer isn't what he, or she, seems...



10. Reunion: (Originally aired on: 22 January 2004)

It's Tru's five year reunion, and she isn't keen on going, mostly because her old best friend is attending. The popular, back stabbing brat ends up drowning in the school pool, and Tru is forced to find the murderer with no idea whatsoever of who it could be. In the end, Tru learns that times change, and some people never will.

11. The Longest Day: (Originally aired on: 5 February 2004)

Tru saves a man's life, but another dies instead and the day rewinds again. The deaths and rewinds continue until the one she is fated to save survives.

12. Valentine: (Originally aired on: 12 February 2004)

Serial killings stymie Tru, whose search for the slayer at a rustic hideaway over a Valentine's Day weekend is complicated by romantic dilemmas in her relationship with Luke.

13. Drop Dead Gorgeous: (Originally aired on: 18 March 2004)

A murdered beauty pageant contestant asks for Tru's help. Tru is unable to warn her, but discovers at the last minute that a different contestant was the intended victim, and turns in the would-be killer.


14. Daddy's Girl: (Originally aired on: 25 March 2004)
Tru dreams of witnessing her mother (whom Davis has told Tru could also give the dead a second chance) being murdered. One Jack Harper takes a job at the morgue. Tru's stepmother is the victim of a stabbing. After rewind Tru stops the mugging, and learns her father is involved with the mugger and her mother's murder. Jack lectures Tru on the value of death as a release.


15. The Getaway: (Originally aired on: 1 April 2004)

Tru shows Jack around the morgue. He intimates that he knows what Tru does, and says that he had a sister who died, and insists that she went to a better place. The victim is a reporter who has been investigating Tru's activities. She is killed during a holdup in a diner. Rewind. Tru prevents two preceding robbery attempts and tells the reporter she will give her an interview if she goes to the morgue and waits; but Jack sends her to the diner. Tru prevents her death by talking the robber's accomplice out of shooting. The reporter threatens to expose Tru, so Tru tells her the truth--which she does not believe.



16. Two Pair: (Originally aired on: 8 April 2004)

A shot coed asks for Tru's help, but there's no rewind until a suicide also speaks, so Tru farms out one assignment to Harrison; Jack explores Davis's past.

17. Death Becomes Her: (Originally aired on: 15 April 2004)

A film actress seeks help from Tru on a "redo day" that exposes the star's secret past, her deceitful ploys and an extortionist's plot. Meanwhile, Jack mysteriously manipulates Harrison, whose relationship with Lindsay suffers as a result.


18. Rear Window: (Originally aired on: 22 April 2004)

Identity theft sires intrigue in a Rear Window-style scenario linked to Tru's apartment view, from which she sees a woman imperiled by a man who's later murdered. Meanwhile, light is shed on Jack's secret past.


19. D.O.A.: (Originally aired on: 29 April 2004)

The plight of a heart-attack victim and his tangled relationships set the stage for Tru's "redo" day, during which she discovers startling revelations concerning her mysterious associate.

20. Two Weddings and a Funeral: (Originally aired on: 29 April 2004)

In the first-season finale, a battle of wills pits Tru against Jack, who tells her to "stop messing with fate" - a warning that haunts her involvement in the destinies of her brother and former lover (Matthew Bomer).


Season 2


21. Perfect Storm: (Originally aired on: 31 March 2005)

Jack comes back to town two months after the events of the Season One finale. Tru's dad decides to move to town. Harrison has been at a new job for six weeks. Tru has started med school, thanks to Davis pulling some strings. When a young Harbor Patrol officer dies in a white squall while rescuing some students and asks for help, Tru has to compete against Jack to save her life.



22. Grace: (Originally aired on: 31 March 2005)

When a psychiatrist is gunned down, Tru tries to identify the killer… but Jacks meddling implicates her in the murder.


23. In The Dark: (Originally aired on: 17 April 2005)

When there's a death at the morgue during Tru's birthday party, and the victim's identity is obscured by darkness, Tru grows convinced that the victim is one of her friends, while Davis concludes it's Carrie who will die.


24. Last Good Day: (Originally aired on: 14 April 2005)

When Jack meets a strange woman at the train station and then witnesses her death, he's the one she turns to for help. Tru's day also rewinds, though, and she discovers how Jack is able to be in the right place at the right time.


25. Enough: (Originally aired on: 21 April 2005)

When someone close to Tru is killed, his body doesn't ask for help. As Tru seizes an opportunity to try saving him, Jack ominously tells her there are consequences to breaking the rules.


26.  'Twas the Night Before Christmas...Again: (Never aired on TV)

It's Christmas Eve but death does not take time off for the holidays. Dark secrets are revealed but a lot is left unanswered.
