V The Series Episode Guide
Season 1
1. Liberation Day (Original airdate October 26, 1984)
After the showdown at the end of V : The Final Battle, Martin
turns the ship around and the group heads back to earth. They
discover however that Diana has escaped the mother ship, and
Donovan launches a sky fighter to go after her. After a brief
flight, Donovan damages Diana's fighter and he captures her
once again.
During the following year, Science Frontiers is awarded the
contract to find the secrets of the Mother ship technology,
Julie Parish is placed in charge of the project by her boss,
Nathan Bates. Elias Taylor has started his own "theme"
restaurant; the Club Creole, Donovan returns to news
reporting, and Martin is his assistant. Robin and Elizabeth
live with Robin's father, Robert; and Diana is on her way to
be tried for crimes against humanity.
2. Dreadnaught (Original airdate November 2, 1984)
Robert and Julie witness the metamorphosis of Elizabeth in the
cave. She falls out of the 'cocoon' and they wrap her in a
coat and take her home. Diana arrives at one of the mother
ships and is informed that the home world is barren now, and
they desperately need Earth to survive. She orders an attack
on Earth, believing the red dust is gone.
3. Breakout (Original airdate May 24, 1985) (This episode only
shown in reruns but was supposed to be shown before Deception)
While in search of Sean Donavan, Mike and Ham are captured
when they help a kid escape a Visitor patrol. They end up in
the same camp as Robin. Diana learns that Kyle is also in the
camp and puts pressure on Nathan to put heat on the
Resistance. Donovan plans an escape, and Ham, Robin, Mike, the
kid, and others get away.
4. The Deception (Original airdate November 9, 1984)
While attempting to make her way back home, Robin meets a
young motorcyclist, Kyle Bates, and witnesses the delivery of
an important pouch from a downed fighter pilot. Kyle takes her
to safety, and then takes the pouch to Resistance
headquarters. Apparently, the World Liberation Front wants to
move Elizabeth to the safety of New York before the Visitors
get to her. Once Kyle meets Elizabeth, he becomes involved in
the Resistance.
*Note: The alternate episode to Breakout, this reintroduces
Kyle Bates to the viewers. It all gets very confusing when you
realize that when the series is shown now (and indeed on
video) both episodes are shown in this order, so we meet Kyle
in the prison camp, then we get this rather insipid
reintroduction to him. Lots of head-scratching if you weren't
aware of the reasons behind it. Meanwhile, the episode suffers
mainly from a very silly main plot, though the notion that
Donovan realized it was a deception through Diana's ignorance
of Elizabeth's metamorphosis is a very clever touch. Sean
Donovan has aged considerably in just a year, it would seem.
5. The Sanction (Original airdate November 16, 1984)
Klaus is a master assassin who has been retained by Diana to
terminate anyone committing crimes against the Legation. He is
also a guru, or Zen master, in charge of training the Visitor

deadly, misunderstanding Julie, Donovan, and the locals
organize an attack on the Visitor estate.

Dust contaminated zone, are being used as slave labor to mine

Earth, Garrison has struck a deal with Diana -- one bar of
gold for each ton of cobalt.

and his assault team locate the Resistance headquarters and
destroy it only moments after Donovan and company pull out.
